Every Day Brings A New Beginning
I am a proud wife and mom and I absolutely love the kids that God entrusted us to raise in this life. My kids are the light of my life, but I won’t pretend that parenting is easy. I have been a mom for over 20 years and a career woman even longer than that. If you’ve ever thought you can’t imagine anyone going through what you have been experiencing with your kids lately, I can say that is 100% not true.
Just because you don’t see what’s really going on in other peoples lives because they choose to share only the highlights of life doesn’t mean they have it all figured out. It’s my goal of mine to help moms identify areas in their life where they may be out of balance so they can make adjustments and thrive. God placed us in a world where we have so many opportunities to interact with and learn from each other. Don’t miss out on those important moments.
By the way, this photo was taken of our property the morning before the excavators came to start digging the spot where our new home will sit. I just loved the feeling of stillness before the chaotic construction began. Enough about that, a little background about me might help. As a young mom in my mid-20's I co-founded a direct sales business in 2003 in the basement of my business partner’s home in southeast Tennessee.
I would never have expected the journey to take the path it did, but God knew. Six years after starting the business God was with us as our family left our home in Tennessee and moved to central Ohio for the company to grow. He was with us as we decided after five years of living in Ohio that we were ready to return home to east Tennessee. We now live in the Knoxville area and absolutely love it. The Great Smoky Mountains are less than an hour drive and one of our favorite parts of this area.
After the move I thrived in a remote role within our company for nine years and I am very proud to have been part of the fast-paced and challenging growth that started from a simple catalog of products and one sales consultant and reached over $750 million in annual sales by the 10th year in business. Our unique company impacted the lives of countless people with an affordable business opportunity and exciting products. God closed the door on my 20-year career in 2023 and I am finding my way forward without that part of my life. Any career move is a big life change, but when it happens after so many years it's not easy.
I am fortunate to now be able to prioritize my family, my home and my mental health as I pursue a new path. I am so grateful to be in a position where I can take a beat to reset and slow down. It has meant the world to me. As I am focusing on giving control over to God he must believe I can handle a lot at once, as we moved out of our dream home within the same year that I left my career. Both of these big life changes were intentional for us but how they occurred proved to me that I truly cannot control things like I believed I could. I'll share more about that soon. I'd love for you to share with me a big life change you've navigated through and how it impacted you.
